How far is Cape Town from Up The Creek?
230 km (A beautiful 2.5 hour drive).
Can I camp next to my vehicle?
There will be a designated area for TENTS ONLY on the green grass and a designated area for those that wish to camp next to their vehicle but be warned, it’s not green grass. Only for the rough and ready.
Can I bring my gas skottle or cooker along?
Yes you can! No open fires. There will be a communal braai place where you can braai your meat.
Can I bring my own booze to the festival?
Alcohol is allowed into the camping area only. No glass bottles will be allowed at all so please make sure to decant that booze into plastic bottles, or just bring your beer in cans.
Can I charge my phone at Up The Creek Yes you can!
The Charging Station will be in the Up the Creek Festival office.
Where can I get water?
We supply a tank with fresh municipal water for free. Alternatively, bottled water can be purchased from the bar.
Can I draw money there?
You can indeed. Last year we had a bit of a problem with our mobile ATM but this year it’ll be working perfectly. To be on the safe side however, we’d advise you to bring a decent amount of cash too.
I lost my ID. Can I bring my driver’s license/passport/certified copy of my ID instead?
That’s cool – Any national (South African or other country) document with your name or your face is fine.
What to bring?
First and foremost an open mind, a good attitude and of course your ticket. And don’t forget your mates. And then: Your I.D Book. A Tent. Mattresses. Camping Chairs. Torch. Sleeping Bag. Duvet. Sun Block. Insect Repellent. Toilet Paper. Camera. Cap or Hat. Something Warm. Towels. Pillows. Headache Pills. Money. Sunglasses. Condoms. More Condoms. Swimming Gear. Anything and everything that floats – Lilo, Paddles, Boats – We like to see creativity here.
What not to bring?
Firearms, pets, people who don’t like awesome music.
